The US military shoots down a third airborne object over North American airspace in three days. The object was described as octagonal in shape. At the point it was struck by an air-to-air missile launched by F-16 fighter jets, it had been flying across the Great Lakes region at 20,000ft.
The object had first appeared over Montana on February 11th andĀ reappeared the next day before being shot down over Lake Huron, off Michigan. The object had an octagonal structure with strings hanging off it but had no discernible payload, U.S. officials said.
